Agni
Tejas
Fire (Agni) in Ayurveda is one of the five Panchamahabhutas. Associated with the eyes and sight, it governs the Solar Plexus chakra. Agni is responsible for metabolism, digestion, and transformation within the body. It enhances complexion and digestive power while influencing emotions ranging from ambition and drive to anger and criticism. This non-sticky, attractive element is fundamental to understanding heat and transformation in Ayurvedic medicine. When the qualities of fire are dominant in a substance, it is classified as tejas.
