Majjavaha srota

Majjavaha srota refers to the channels responsible for carrying Majja Dhatu. In modern medicine, asthivaha srota and majjavaha srota can be loosely translated to the skeletal system.

Functions: Carries nutrients of bones, joints and bone marrow

Controlling Organs: 

• Bones
• Joints

Causes of vitiation:

• Incompatible food consumption
• Injury to bone marrow by crushing, compression
• Neural trauma due to fracture of bones
• Food and lifestyle mistakes, such as consuming foods which lead to vitiation of doshas, especially Kapha dosha
• Incompatible foods consumption

Symptoms and diseases of Majjavaha srota vitiation:

• Pain in joints
• Giddiness
• Fainting
• Loss of memory
• Blackouts
• Deep seated abscesses
• Increased risk of fractures
• Increase in cholesterol
• Increase in mucous in the respiratory system, in urine and in stool
• Osteoporosis or osteopenia
• Bone marrow cancer
• Traumatic paralysis
• Nervous tumors

Treatment: 

• Exercise
• Balanced diet - correcting food and lifestyle according to one's body type
• Panchkarma cleaning depending on the type of imbalance
