Malas
Malas are the body's waste products formed during metabolism. Far from being mere waste, these substances play crucial roles in bodily function and serve as important diagnostic indicators. The primary malas (stool, urine, sweat) called Trimalas.
Metabolic action on food prepares sara (the essence from which dhatus are nourished and regenerated) and asara (inessential portion from which body wastes are produced). The body wastes produced from asara are called Malas.
Malas play a very important role in overall functioning of the body and have purposes beyond simple waste elimination.
