Mamsavaha srota

Mamsavaha srota refers to the channels responsible for carrying Mamsa Dhatu. In modern medicine, mamsavaha srota along with medovaha srota can be loosely translated to the muscular system.

Functions: Carries ingredients of muscular tissues

Controlling Organs: 

• Tendons
• Ligaments
• Muscular Tissues

Causes of vitiation:

• Food and lifestyle mistakes, such as consuming foods which lead to vitiation of doshas
• One of the most common food and lifestyle mistake linked with issues in mamsavaha srota is consumption of fatty, heavy foods and eating many meals in a day.
• Sleeping immediately after meals
• Eating either too much or too less food

Symptoms and Diseases of Mamsavaha srota vitiation:

• Severe skin diseases
• Tonsilitis
• Irregular growth of thyroid gland
• Piles
• Cancers - Liposarcoma, Myoblastoma
• Inflammation of lymph nodes in belly
• Non-cancerous tumor in and around uterus
• Non-malignant growths
• Muscle wasting - atrophy or degenration
• Loss of tolerance to cold
• Obesity

Treatment: 

• Surgery
• Heart therapy
• Ksara therapy
• Pranayam
• Balanced diet - correcting food and lifestyle according to one's body type
• Panchkarma cleaning depending on the type of imbalance
