Causes of vitiation:
- Suppression of natural urge to defecate
- Intake of food before digestion of previous meal
- Weak digestion
- Food and lifestyle mistakes, such as consuming foods which lead to vitiation of doshas
- One of the most common food and lifestyle mistake linked with issues in pureeshava srota is consumption of drying and aerated foods.
Symptoms and Diseases of Purisha srota vitiation:
- Less excretion of fecal matter (Constipation)
- Excessive excretion of fecal matter (Diarrhea)
- Hard stool
- Presence of mucous or undigested food particles in the stool
- Pressure and pain experienced when pooping
- Rectal prolapse
- Intestinal perforation
- Cramps in intestine
- Overstretching of intestine
- Knots in intestine
- Anal Fissures
- Anal Fistula
- Haemorrhoids
- Anal Polyps
- Tumours of colon, intestine and rectum
- Fecal vomiting in extreme cases of obstructions in the purisavaha srotas
Treatment:
- Treatments done in case of diarrhea
- Using laxatives or purgatives (in case of constipation)

- Yogasanas
- Panchkarma cleaning depending on the type of imbalance
