Rasavaha srota refers to the channels responsible for carrying Rasa Dhatu.

Rasavaha srota refers to the channels responsible for carrying Rasa Dhatu.

Rasa is the first element produced after the digestion of food and the quality of rasa determines the quality of all the other dhatus.

This reflects the importance of the good health of Rasavaha srotas as well because if these channels are not functioning optimally, the negative impact will be visible in functioning of all the dhatus.

Functions: Carries chyle, lymph, plasma

Controlling Organs: 

• Heart
• Blood vessels connected to heart

Causes of vitiation:

• Worry
• Food and lifestyle mistakes, such as consuming foods which lead to vitiation of doshas
• One of the most common food and lifestyle mistake linked with issues in rasavaha srota is consumption of heavy, cold and oily foods.
• Consumption of poor quality of food and water

Symptoms and Diseases of Rasavaha srota vitiation:

• Anorexia
• Nausea
• Heaviness
• Dryness
• Passing out
• Anemia
• Impotency
• Loss of taste
• Premature wrinkles
• Edema

Link with Doshas: 

Even though the vitiation in rasavaha srota can occur because of imbalance in any of the doshas but in case of vitiation of Kapha, the manifestation of symptoms of the srota vitiation is likely to occur faster.

Treatment: 

• Fasting
• Balanced diet - correcting food and lifestyle according to one's body type
• Panchkarma cleaning depending on the type of imbalance
