Sesame seeds are useful for hair health, in cough, in period-related issues and in skin care too.
How to use sesame seeds:
Using a decoction made from sesame roots and leaves can prevent premature greying of hair.
Massaging your hair with black sesame seed oil every day can make your hair soft, black, and thick.
For decrease in dandruff and balding, take equal amounts of sesame flowers and gokhru, add ghee and honey, and apply the mixture to your scalp.
To increase the length of your hair, apply a paste made by mixing equal quantities of Amla (Indian gooseberry), Black sesame seeds, Kamal Kesar (Lotus Saffron), and Mulethi (Licorice) with honey.
To relieve headaches, crush sesame leaves in vinegar or water and apply the paste to your forehead.
Crush sesame seeds in milk and apply on your forehead to relieve migraine pain and headaches.
Putting dew that has fallen on sesame flowers during autumn in a bottle and using the water in your eyes is good for your eyes.
Using a decoction made of black sesame seeds to wash your eyes helps relieve eye-related issues.
Taking nasyam of 1-2 drops of sesame oil, baheda oil, bhringraj juice, and vijaysaar kwath mixed in an iron utensil helps improve your eyesight.
To strengthen your teeth, chew 25 gm of sesame seeds every day.
In case of pyorrhoea (loosening of teeth and inflammation of gums), fill your mouth with sesame seeds and keep it like that for 5-10 minutes.
For cough, drink 30-40 ml of sesame kadha with 2 tsp of raw sugar (shakkar).
In case of a dry cough, drink water after boiling sesame and rock sugar (mishri) in it.
For dysentery:
· Take 5 gm powder of sesame seeds and 5 gm of rock sugar with 40 ml goat milk.
· Soak sesame leaves in water. This will create a thick viscous fluid (also referred to as laub). Drinking this will help in relief from dysentery and other issues like diarrhea or urinary issues.
· Taking laub made of sesame leaves along with some opium morning and evening can also help. Please consult your doctor to determine the right dosage of the same.
In case of piles, taking sesame crushed in water with butter thrice a day 1 hour before food for seven days provides relief. Taking an enema using sesame oil is also helpful in piles.
Taking 125-250 gm of freshly bloomed sesame leaves dried in the shade helps in removing stones.
Eating sesame seeds 3-4 times a day helps in uterus-related issues.
In case of period-related issues:
· Drinking a 30-40 ml decoction made from sesame seeds helps in overall period-related issues.
· Another remedy for overall period-related issues: Take 100 ml of sesame decoction and add 2 gm dry ginger powder, 2 gm black pepper, and 2 gm of pipal (sacred fig) powder. Drink this thrice a day.
· In case of improper menstrual blood flow, take 1-2 gm of sesame powder 3-4 times with water.
· In case of irregular periods, take 30-40 ml of sesame decoction twice a day.
In case of white discharge, dip a cotton ball in sesame oil and place it on your vagina.
To boost vitality, cook 5 gm of sesame seeds, 1 gm of gokhru powder, and 200 ml goat milk.
In case of rheumatism, consume 5 gm sesame and 5 gm dry ginger powder 3 times a day.
For virility in men, take 30-40 ml decoction made of sesame and flax seeds.
To prevent bedwetting by kids, give them some sesame seeds to chew.
In case of a burn on your skin, apply a paste made by crushing sesame seeds in water.
For skin care, apply sesame oil on your skin.
Apply sesame and siras bark after crushing it in vinegar on your face for relief in pimples.
Apply sesame seeds cake left over when oil is extracted from sesame seeds like a paste on any sprain, and tie a bandage over it.
For pain due to injury, crush sesame and castor in sesame oil and apply on the painful area.
Applying a small packet of sesame seeds over a wound can help in quick recovery.
In case of bites:
Apply a paste made of sesame and turmeric on a spider bite; and apply sesame seeds crushed in water on a cat bite.
Caution:
Avoid the use of sesame in case of leprosy and swelling.
Recommended quantity:
· Sesame seeds powder: 3-6 gm
· Sesame oil: 10-20 ml
· Sesame decoction: 30-40 ml
